TARRAGONA PROVINCE
In Tarragona Province, we visited the famous Santa Creus monastery that dates back to the 12th century. We also traveled to El Vendrells to partake in the Fira de Santa Teresa. At this festival we were amazed at the castellers (human towers) performed by several local teams. In front of nearby Sant Salvador beach, we toured the magnificent museum for Pablo Casals which was established in his summer home. During these travels we visited three wineries -- Llopart, Jané Ventura, and Mas Vicenç -- as well as Vermuts Padro where we had an amazing introduction to vermouth production … and tasting!
